Thanksgiving is right around the corner and we’ve been feeling particularly inspired by the flavors of fall. Our staff has been chatting about favorite recipe ideas and ways to incorporate our oils and vinegars into the cornucopia of Thanksgiving flavors. Below are some of our favorite holiday ideas.

All of us at Saratoga Olive Oil Co. send our best wishes to you and your family as you celebrate the holiday together.

Saratoga Olive Oil Co. dinner

Bread & Butter
Suggested: Butter Olive Oil

After you’ve whipped up your favorite recipe for rolls or biscuits, try using Butter Olive Oil as a healthier alternative to butter. Completely natural and dairy free, this oil serves as a cholesterol-free substitute. Pour some oil into a dish with edges and place in the freezer to solidify - it’ll be ready to spread onto warm rolls or melt on to your mashed potatoes.

Suggested: Mushroom & Sage Olive Oil, Cranberry Pear White Balsamic Vinegar

The fruity, tart flavor of the Cranberry Pear Balsamic blends perfectly with the fresh, earthy flavor of the Mushroom & Sage Oil. Drizzle this pairing over your stuffing to give it a unique flare. If you usually add fresh cranberries to your stuffing, the balsamic will complement your recipe nicely.

Sweet Potatoes
Suggested: Butternut Squash Seed Oil

Whether you’re serving up baked or mashed sweet potatoes, the rich, nutty flavor of our Butternut Squash Seed Oil will indulge your tastebuds. For mashed potatoes, drizzle the oil in as you whip them. For baked potatoes, add oil individually when served.

The Star of the Show

Suggested: Herbs de Provence Olive Oil

This one’s the star of the show and we understand how important it is to get the flavor just right. Rub this oil on your turkey before roasting to add the savory flavors of thyme and bay leaf. With this succulent turkey all set, the only challenge now is fighting the power of tryptophan to stay awake for dessert.

We’re willing to bet you’ll have some turkey leftover on your table once all the family members have enjoyed their fair share.

Turkey Quinoa Soup
Suggested: Tuscan Herb Olive Oil

Put your turkey leftovers to good use in a hearty soup, such as this recipeUsing our organic Tuscan Herb Olive Oil, infused with garlic, basil, oregano, and rosemary, in the recipe will add a delicious blend of spices in to your soup. Instead of a traditional noodle soup, we recommend quinoa as a healthier, lighter alternative to noodles - quinoa is packed with nutrients.
