Strawberries with Dark Chocolate Balsamic Vinegar
Maybe it’s the chocolate. Maybe it’s the color red. But chocolate covered strawberries are a treat undeniably associated with Valentine’s Day.
We happen to love them so we've put a Saratoga Olive Oil Co. spin on chocolate covered strawberries by topping them with our Dark Chocolate Balsamic Vinegar.
This recipe is simple - requiring merely two ingredients and less than 15 minutes to achieve. If you’ve tasted the Dark Chocolate Balsamic, which uses the 18 Year Traditional Balsamic as the base, you already know it’s aged, sweet, and thick. This delicious balsamic can be drizzled over strawberries right out of the bottle and provide wonderful flavor, however, in this recipe we’ve created a balsamic reduction, giving it an even thicker, more syrupy consistency. Also try drizzling this over other types of fruit as well as vanilla ice cream for a sweet treat.
Try this fun, festive recipe on Valentine’s Day. But don’t just save it for the holiday! It’s a quick dessert to whip up and the presentation will wow your friends, family, and guests.
- In a sauce pan, heat balsamic vinegar on medium heat until it begins to boil.
- Reduce heat, bringing vinegar to a simmer. Stir occasionally. Allow vinegar to simmer for 10-12 minutes - longer for a more syrupy reduction
- Cool and place in a container with lid.
