Strawberry Basil Burrata Crostini

Saratoga Olive Oil Co. Basil & Strawberry Burrata Crostini

Crostini - Italian for “Little toast.” There’s nothing little about the number of possibilities that can go atop a piece of toasted bread.

Of all the different combinations, one of our absolute favorites features Burrata, the creamy mozzarella with a soft texture and unmatched flavor. This recipe includes our Strawberry balsamic as well as Basil olive oil, but could certainly be adapted to include different oil and vinegar pairings depending on your preferences. Quick and easy to prepare, this irresistible snack works wonderfully as an hor d'oeuvre when entertaining.

An integral part of Italian cooking, basil adds a green herb taste to any dish. Brushing the crostini with the Basil olive oil adds flavor that’s complemented by the fresh basil. The sweetness of our aged Strawberry balsamic vinegar is balanced by the herbaceous basil flavor.

Our Basil Olive Oil is one of our most popular - and for a good reason! Consider using it on grilled vegetables, pasta, or salads. Its flavor is very adaptable and can be paired with nearly any balsamic vinegar. Another customer favorite, Strawberry Balsamic can be used to drizzle on grilled fish, marinade pork, or even drizzle on desserts - like vanilla ice cream or fruit salad.

This month’s pairing special features Basil & Strawberry (Burlington store). Grab a 200ml bottle of each for  just $22 and get creative with this delicious flavor combination!
