FAQ's

Is Olive Oil Good for You?

Yes, high-quality extra virgin olive oil is incredibly healthy. Olive oil is abundant in healthy monounsaturated fats as well as high quantities of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties for a beneficial addition to any diet. Due to its powerful antioxidants, it benefits your heart, brain, joints and more! Integrating extra virgin olive oil into your diet is an easy and delicious way to enhance overall well-being.

Can You Cook with Olive Oil?

Absolutely! Extra virgin olive oil is one of the best oils to cook with! You can use extra virgin olive oil to sauté, grill, bake, and fry! Extra Virgin Olive Oil has a high smoke point that can hold up to high cooking temperatures (410℉). The fresher the extra virgin olive oil, the higher the smoke point. Just be careful not to smoke the oil and always work with the oil under controlled heat.

Can You Use Olive Oil Instead of Vegetable Oil?

Yes! You can substitute olive oil in a 1:1 ratio with vegetable oil when baking. We recommend using a mild olive oil, or it may affect the taste of your baked goods. One of the many advantages of olive oil for baking is its versatility. Not only can it replace vegetable oil, but you can also replace butter or other cooking oils with it, providing endless opportunities for culinary creativity while reaping all its health advantages.

Can Dogs Have Olive Oil?

Yes, olive oil is safe for dogs and can even offer health benefits. Olive oil is rich in healthy monounsaturated fats that can help give energy and support immune system health. Regular consumption of olive oil can encourage healthy skin and help your dog have a lustrous coat. Try drizzling some of our extra virgin olive oil over your dogs next meal or bake dog treats using olive oil.

Does Olive Oil Go Bad?

All of our gourmet oils are unrefined and are therefore best consumed as close to the crush/production dates as possible. If stored properly, our oils will hold their fresh flavor for 9-12 months. Over time, the oils will gradually lose their fresh flavor, and their polyphenols (antioxidants) and vitamins will decrease. Do not wait, enjoy your gourmet oils now!

What is the Best Way to Store Olive Oil?

The best way to store olive oil is in a cool, dark place. Extra virgin olive oil’s biggest enemies are heat and light. Do not keep your oils too close to a heat source and never trust an olive oil in a clear container! Store your extra virgin olive oils in a dark or amber colored bottles away, protecting them from light exposure. Cabinets or pantries offer ideal storage conditions, providing shelter from both heat and light exposure.
