Pan Seared Strip Steak

This easy recipe uses a cast iron skillet, Garlic Olive Oil, Truffle Sea Salt and fresh thyme. You can substitute Mushroom & Sage or Chipotle Olive Oil and Smoked Garlic Sea Salt for a delicious alternative!

Ingredients

  • 2 lean, grass-fed strip steaks, about 12 oz each.
  • 1 t SOOC Truffle Sea Salt or Smoked Garlic Sea Salt
  • ¾ t ground pepper
  • 3 T SOOC Garlic, Wild Mushroom or Chipolte Olive Oil
  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme

Directions

  • 1. Season steaks with salt & pepper on both sides.
  • 2. Heat a cast iron skillet on high; add oil to coat skillet. Grill steaks 4 minutes per side. Reduce heat to medium, add thyme & cook 1 ½ minutes.
  • 3. Place steaks on a cutting board & cover loosely with foil. Allow to rest for 5 minutes.
  • 4. Cut steaks across the grain & serve.
