Stony Brook WholeHeartedFoods' pumpkin seeds and butternut squash seed snacks are brined in sea salt and barrel-roasted in small batches. Seeds are a good source of protein and contain lutein, beta carotene, Vitamins E and A. Stony Brook’s seeds are locally sourced, 100% US grown from a farmer-partner in upstate NY. These Pepitas are gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and nut-free, produced and packaged in their production kitchen. Eat right out of the bag as a snack, or sprinkle them over yogurt, granola, soups, salads, or grind in a food processor as a gluten-free and nut-free bread crumb topping alternative. Choose from 4 different types of Pepitas:

Maple Pepita: Maple Pumpkin Seeds – a healthy snack high in zinc and magnesium.  Finger Lakes-grown and roasted in our production kitchen, pumpkin seeds are drizzled with maple syrup for a slightly sweet, crispy crunch.  Seeds are packed with nutrients like Vitamin E, zinc, copper, manganese, magnesium, omega 3 and omega 9 fats, lutein and beta carotene. The vast majority of pumpkin seeds are grown in China, Stony Brook is one of the very few producers in the US using domestically grown seeds.

Butternut Squash Pepita: Our brined and roasted butternut pepitas (aka butternut squash seeds) are a crispy crunchy snack you can eat straight from the bag or sprinkled over salads. These Butternut Squash seeds have a lightly salty, savory flavor similar to those jack o’ lantern seeds your Mom used to roast in the oven after Halloween. The seeds have hulls that are softened by brining and roasting and do not need to be removed before eating; they should be eaten whole.

Spicy Chili Butternut Pepita: Our brined and roasted butternut squash seeds (aka butternut pepitas) are a slightly sweet, slightly spicy crunchy snack you can eat straight from the bag or sprinkled over salads. The Spicy Chili Butternut Squash seeds have a savory flavor similar to those jack o’ lantern seeds your Mom used to roast in the oven after Halloween. Pumpkin Pepita: New York grown and roasted, Stony Brook is one of the very few US producers using domestically grown pumpkin seeds. Finger Lakes grown, brined and roasted pumpkin seeds (aka pepitas) are a crunchy seed snack loaded with nutrients like Vitamin E, zinc, copper, manganese, magnesium, omega 3 and omega 9 oils, lutein and beta carotene. Seeds are dry roasted at low temperatures to preserve the delicate omega-3 fats and optimum flavor.
